Directors
Rita is originally from Council Bluffs, Iowa. She has a Bachelors of Art degree in Interior Design with a Business emphasis from Iowa State University. She has lived in Eagle County for over 21 years. Rita is Director Certified by the state of Colorado. She has a Classroom Director of Early Childhood Education certificate from Montessori Educational Programs International, Inc. Prior to joining Gore Range Montessori, Rita was the director and a teacher at Montessori Children’s House. She has been a passionate Montessori directress for 15 years; involved in early childhood care for 20 years. In May 2004, Rita was honored as the first recipient of the Moe Mulrooney Award for Inspiration in Early Childhood Care and Education. In addition, Rita has completed the Primary Teacher Certification program at the Montessori Education Center of the Rockies and earned certification from the American Montessori Society. Rita has a grown daughter who lives in Leadville.
Kristin is originally from New York City. She has been living in the Vail area since 1997. Kristin is Director Certified by the state of Colorado. She has a Master’s Degree in Special Education from New York University, an Early Childhood Credential from the American Montessori Society and a Montessori Teaching Certificate in both Preschool/Kindergarten and Infant, Toddlers and Twos from the North American Montessori Center. In addition, Kristin has been teaching Preschool and Kindergarten since 1992. Kristin has four children- 2 boys and 2 girls.
